We were engaged to advise and protect the rights denied our client in the composition of several titles of an established/signed artist’s latest album release (December 2016).

Simons Rodkin Solicitors LLP prepared and distributed contracts to protect the rights of our producer/songwriter client to make the sound recording available for use in a major 2017 film release.

We assisted label executives in setting up terms and conditions for the signing of new producers to a burgeoning record company (January 2017).

We have been instructed to advise our client to register copyrights with collection societies in the UK such as the Performing Rights Society and the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society as well as collection societies around the world including: 

ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SOCAN,PPL, BUMA/STEMRA, Harry Fox Agency, GEMA, SACEM, SGAE, AGEDI, AIE, DAMA and/or JASRAC.

Our client engaged us to contact and instruct a major film company to account to us the rights and royalties paid and due to them. 

This involved our Consultant in Music researching and contacting companies in the UK and Hollywood to confirm rights, terms and payment structures over a 50-year period since release of the original cinematic debut.

We have clients who request our engagement to explain and negotiate contracts for the development of their careers in music, film, television and musical theatre as well as video production, distribution and marketing.
